Former India cricketer Vinod Kambli is currently undergoing treatment at Akruti Hospital in Kalher village, Bhiwandi, after his health deteriorated on Saturday night. He was admitted by a devoted fan, who also owns the hospital. As of Monday, December 23, 2024, Kambli’s condition has stabilized.

Kambli, 52, was brought to the private hospital in Thane, Mumbai, where he is receiving comprehensive care. While the exact reason for his hospitalization remains unclear, Kambli reassured fans in a conversation with ANI from his hospital bed. He expressed feeling better and even sang "We Are the Champions" in a video shared on social media.

Kambli reflected on his cricketing career, stating, "I am feeling better now... I will never leave this [cricket] because I remember the number of centuries and double centuries I have hit... We are three left-handers in the family. I am thankful to Sachin Tendulkar as his blessings have always been with me."

In another video, Kambli attributed his recovery to his doctor, saying, "All I would say is that I will do whatever sir [referring to the doctor] asks me to. People will see the inspiration that I'll give them..."

Kambli, who played 17 Tests and 104 ODIs for India between 1993 and 2000, has been dealing with health issues for some time. He recently attended the inauguration of legendary coach Ramakant Achrekar’s memorial at Shivaji Park, where he appeared frail. The event was also attended by his long-time friend, Sachin Tendulkar.

Despite his ongoing health struggles, Kambli remains optimistic and grateful for the support he has received. The hospital has assured financial aid for his treatment, ensuring he gets the care he needs.

Vinod Kambli’s resilience and positive attitude continue to inspire fans, as he navigates his health challenges with the unwavering support of his loved ones and the cricket community.
