The Telugu Desam Party and its election partner Jana Sena Party have set in motion efforts to make the culmination of Yuva Galam yatra by TDP national general secretary Nara Lokesh on December 20 at Polipalli village on the border of Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam districts a grand success.

The yellow brigade led by State president K Atchan Naidu and former Civil Aviation Minister P Ashok Gajapathi Raju performed ‘bhoomi puja’ at a site belonging to a real estate company near Nellimarla. The layout is spread over 50 acres.

“We want to make it a big event as our national president N Chandrababu Naidu and JSP president Pawan Kalyan are expected to address a mammoth crowd for the first time after announcing their decision to contest 2024 elections jointly,” TDP district president Palla Srinivasa Rao said.

After his discharge on bail, Naidu has not addressed any big meeting. During his recent visit to Simhachalam temple, he evaded queries from the media on political developments. However, a politically significant development, Pawan during a party rally held here last week declared that he was hungry for power and the decision on Chief Ministerial candidate once TDP-JSP get the mandate to govern in the ensuing elections will be decided jointly by him and Naidu. “It will be a joint decision,” he clarified.

The Yuva Galam padayatra of Lokesh, crossed the record 3,000 km milestone at Tuni in Kakinada district on Monday. A pylon was opened to mark the occasion.

Nara Brahmani, wife of Lokesh, Devansh, the son of the couple, Nandamuri Mokshkat, the brother-in-law of Lokesh and others were present. A large crowd thronged the area to greet Lokesh as he crossed the 3,000 km milestone of his padayatra and they expressed solidarity with the TDP national general secretary.

Addressing the gathering, Lokesh promised to reopen the Anna Canteens immediately after the party is back in power in alliance with JSP in the coming elections. At the Padmanabha Function Hall, some RMP qualified persons met Lokesh and submitted a memorandum. They complained to him that GO No. 465, released by the TDP regime in 2017 recognising the RMP doctors as paramedics is not implemented by the YSRCP government. The RMP doctors made an appeal to Lokesh that once the TDP formed the government, the GO may be implemented.
