Synergy Shipping sponsors teen shooter’s Olympic dream

Visakhapatnam: In a noble gesture, a stevedoring company working in Visakhapatnam has come forward to provide an air rifle and financial assistant to the daughter of a casual worker engaged in the Cargo Handling Division of Traffic Department of Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) to undergo national air rifle training by the Sports Authority of India.

Deepthi, daughter of G Ananda Rao has already proved her talent at various levels. She secured gold medal in (U-19 category) in district, State level competitions and received sixth position in 10m Air Rifle Champion Women-AP State level competitions which were held in Hyderabad by NRAI National Rifle Association of India. She also participated in 13 South Zone Shooting Championship Air Rifle events which were held at Trichy in Tamil Nadu and qualified to national level held by NRAI. She participated in 65th National Shooting Championship Air Rifle held at Thiruvananthapuram and became a remote shooter in both junior and women categories and also did well in All India University Nationals.

Considering her achievements in the air rifle shooting, as she was in need of German-made air rifle to do well in future, Traffic Manager of VPA B Ratna Sekhar Rao requested Synergy Shipping Pvt Ltd to sponsor Deepthi and assist her financially for purchasing imported air rifle.

Miriyala Venugopal, CEO of Synergy Shipping took this opportunity as privilege to sponsor Deepthi and immediately arranged to purchase the required air rifle from Germany and handed over to her through VPA Chairperson Madhaiyaan Angamuthu.

During the facilitation, Angamuthu praised her for her achievements and asked her to utilise this opportunity to participate in more championships and bring laurels to the State.
