Sri City-based Hunter Douglas beautifies Taj Mahal Metro Station

The Sri City based Hunter Douglas India Ltd, a subsidiary of Hunter Douglas Group, played a key role in the design and construction of the new Taj Mahal Metro Station in Agra, which was inaugurated by the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, on March 6. It featured Hunter Douglas's advanced solutions, including wood-finish metal baffles and linear metal ceilings, which helped to create a visually appealing and acoustically serene environment for metro passengers.

Operating from its advanced manufacturing facility in Sri City and known for its Luxalon brand, Hunter Douglas supplied a Luxalon wood finish roll-formed metal baffle covering 10,000 square metres, ensuring acoustic tranquilly and refined interior aesthetics. Additionally, the Luxalon 300C linear roll-formed metal ceiling, spanning 3500 square metres, further enhanced the station's architectural identity.

PK Sundaramoorthy, Managing Director of Hunter Douglas India, highlighted the company's role as a reliable partner in outfitting major metro stations across India, including those in Nagpur, Pune, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Navi Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Jaipur, Delhi, Kanpur, Kolkotta, and Agra. He emphasised Hunter Douglas's reputation for delivering innovative and dependable architectural solutions across various cities.

Dr Ravindra Sannareddy, Founder Managing Director of Sri City, commended Hunter Douglas for its contributions to prestigious projects, praising the team for its excellent finish in various metro stations, blending sophistication with functionality.

Hunter Douglas's diverse product range, including window blinds, roller shades, metal ceilings, and sunshade products, reflects its versatility and dedication to meeting modern architectural demands. The company's involvement extends beyond metro stations to critical infrastructure projects like the Rafael fighter jet hangar at Ambala Airforce Station, Punjab, and the Surat Diamond Bourse, the world's largest office facility.
