Six Dead, Six Injured in Massive Fire at Rayavaram Firecracker Factory
RAJAMAHENDRAVARAM: A massive fire at a firecracker manufacturing unit in Rayavaram village on Wednesday claimed six lives. Eyewitnesses reported that a powerful explosion at the facility triggered the blaze, rapidly engulfing the premises.
Around 20 workers were inside the factory at the time of the incident. Six people were burnt alive, while another six sustained severe burn injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital, with two in critical condition.
The explosion and roaring flames caused panic among local residents, who fled the area. Fire and rescue teams are working to control the fire, while senior police officials, political leaders, and administrative authorities oversee rescue and relief operations. An investigation into the cause of the accident is currently underway.
