The Game's Operation
In contrast to conventional lotteries, Shillong Teer is unique. The winners are chosen by correctly estimating the total number of arrows that 50 archers will shoot over the course of two rounds at Shillong's Polo Ground:
- First round: each archer gets 30 arrows.
- Second Round: each archer gets 20 arrows
From 10 AM to 3:30 PM, participants purchase tickets from authorised booths around Meghalaya, with prices ranging from Rs 1 to Rs 100. Eleven districts include more than 5,000 betting centres.
The final two digits of the total number of arrows that struck the target in each round must be accurately predicted by players in order to win.
