Maharashtra
Districts on Yellow Alert: Aurangabad, Jalna, Parbhani, Hingoli, Washim, Yavatmal, Wardha, Nagpur, Bhandara, Latur, Osmanabad, and Gondia.
Heavy Rain Predicted: Ahmednagar, Beed, Buldhana, Akola, and Amravati.
Despite these alerts, no official holiday has been declared in Maharashtra. Parents should rely only on verified school and government notifications.
Festival-Related School Holidays
South India – Dussehra Breaks
Karnataka: Schools will close from September 20 to October 6, 2025. (Open on Sept 19, holiday begins the next day.)
Telangana: Schools shut from September 21 to October 3, 2025.
Andhra Pradesh: Nine-day holiday from September 24 to October 2, 2025.
Eastern India – Vishwakarma Puja & Durga Puja
On September 17, schools were closed in West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Tripura for Vishwakarma Puja.
Durga Puja holidays will be observed in West Bengal, Tripura, Assam, and Odisha on September 29–30, 2025, extending into early October.
Haryana
