Bollywood’s rising star Aneet Padda, who made a sensational debut with Saiyaara, is reportedly set to appear in an OTT project next. Despite fans questioning the move, industry insiders have assured that this project does not impact her growing stature as a "big screen heroine."
Saiyaara, starring Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, has turned into a blockbuster, raking in ₹248.43 crore in just 10 days. The film is expected to cross the ₹300 crore net mark this week, solidifying Aneet’s position as one of Bollywood’s most promising Gen Z stars.
What’s the Buzz About Aneet’s OTT Project?
Yes, Aneet Padda’s next release is an OTT project — but there’s a twist. The project, titled Nyaya, was filmed before she signed Yash Raj Films’ Saiyaara. Directed by Nitya Mehra (Baar Baar Dekho) and produced along with her husband Karan Kapadia, Nyaya is a fictionalised series based on real events.
The series, which also stars Fatima Sana Shaikh and Arjun Mathur, is slated to premiere on a major streaming platform soon. Aneet plays a 17-year-old girl seeking justice after being assaulted by a powerful spiritual leader, while Fatima portrays a determined police officer.
‘Aneet is a Big Screen Heroine’
Industry sources have confirmed that YRF is keen to build Aneet Padda’s career around theatrical releases.
“Aneet is a big screen heroine for YRF. Nyaya was shot before she signed Saiyaara and it has no bearing on her theatrical journey,” a source told HT Digital.
With Saiyaara likely to become a ₹400 crore hit, YRF reportedly plans to position Aneet as the face of a new generation of Bollywood stars.
