DST grant for IIT-Hyderabad projects

A 60-million-rupee grant from the Union Department of Science and Technology (DST) was given to the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)—Hyderabad Cluster in order to fund the establishment of the Sathi-Ciscom Center for in-situ and correlative microscopy. Among the three clusters chosen for the SATHI scheme, IIT-H is one of the most advanced. This endeavour, spearheaded by IIT-H Director Prof. B.S. Murty, will use state-of-the-art microscopy techniques and interdisciplinary collaboration to transform scientific research.

Under the direction of IIT-H Director Prof. B.S. Murty, this initiative will use state-of-the-art microscopy techniques to bring about a paradigm shift in scientific research by promoting collaboration across disciplines. Professor Murty stated that this "transformative initiative will empower scientists across diverse disciplines to collaborate on innovative solutions using such microscopy techniques."

To meet the demands of both academic and commercial R&D, the proposed facility would allow real-time characterization across various length scales. In a statement, IIT-H expressed their hope that it will draw researchers from diverse disciplines, creating an atmosphere where they can work together to achieve shared scientific objectives.

Department of Science and Technology grant

According to the project's principal investigator, Dr. Sai Rama Krishna Malladi, 15 different organizations from the fields of academia, research, and industry have pledged over 16 crores to support the Sathi-Ciscom facility. The University of Hyderabad, the Telangana State Council for Higher Education, and the pharmaceutical behemoth Dr. Reddy's Labs are among the notable contributors.
