BJP MP GVL Narasimha Rao
The Railway Board has directed the Chief Administrative Officer (Construction) of East Coast Railway to get the designs approved and tenders cleared to undertake construction work for the headquarters of South Coast Railway (SCoR) Zone in Visakhapatnam.
An order to this effect was issued by the board recently. The issue figured when BJP MP GVL Narasimha Rao called on Divisional Railway Manager Saurabh Prasad here.

Though the new zone was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the eve of general elections in 2019 and subsequently sanctioned by the Railway Ministry, it is yet to be operationalised.
Narasimha Rao said the delay had occurred due to red-tapism in handing over land at Mudasarlova. The Revenue Department has to hand over the land as compensation for the Railway land it acquired for road-widening a few years ago.
