PM Modi Urges Urgent Addressal of India-China Border Situation

Recognizing the importance of peaceful relations between India and China, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the urgent need to resolve the ongoing India-China border situation. In an interview with Newsweek magazine, PM Modi highlighted the significance of stable ties between the two nations for the entire region and the world.

PM Modi's statement addressed the strained relations stemming from a military standoff along the Line of Actual Control in eastern Ladakh. He stressed the importance of swiftly addressing the situation. He emphasized the need to move past the current state of abnormal bilateral interactions.

He explained that the Quad focuses on shared goals and works towards an open, free, and inclusive Indo-Pacific region. PM Modi's perspective emphasizes cooperation and mutual goals in the region.

When asked about competition with China and India-China border dispute, PM Modi emphasized India's strengths as a democratic nation and an economic powerhouse. He highlighted India's potential as a manufacturing hub and a destination for establishing resilient supply chains.

India-China border issue took a serious turn in 2020 following clashes between their troops in the Galwan Valley, resulting in casualties on both sides. PM Modi's comments highlighted the need for dialogue and cooperation to address ongoing challenges and promote stability in the region.
