Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate 103 redeveloped Amrit Stations across 86 districts in 18 states on Thursday, May 22. Developed under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, these stations have been revamped at a total cost of over ₹1,100 crore, aiming to elevate passenger experience and honor India’s rich cultural legacy.

Taking to social media platform X, PM Modi announced, “Tomorrow, 22nd May is a landmark day for India’s railway infrastructure. The Amrit Stations will boost comfort, connectivity and celebrate our glorious culture!”

As part of the event, the Prime Minister will visit Bikaner, where he will inaugurate the newly redeveloped Deshnoke Railway Station and flag off the Bikaner-Mumbai Express. He will also participate in a public event in Palana and lay the foundation stone or inaugurate a series of development projects across Rajasthan worth over ₹26,000 crore.

A government release highlighted that more than 1,300 railway stations across India are being redeveloped under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. These stations are being equipped with modern amenities, accessible features for Divyangjan, and are being redesigned to reflect local architectural styles—blending infrastructure upgrades with cultural preservation and sustainability.

In a major boost to green infrastructure, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for the Churu–Sadulpur railway line (58 km) and dedicate six electrified railway sections to the nation:

Suratgarh–Phalodi (336 km)

Phulera–Degana (109 km)

Udaipur–Himmatnagar (210 km)

Phalodi–Jaisalmer (157 km)

Samdari–Barmer (129 km)

These initiatives align with Indian Railways’ mission to achieve 100% network electrification, enhancing energy efficiency and reducing carbon emissions.

Additionally, the Prime Minister will launch several key infrastructure projects in Rajasthan, including three vehicle underpasses and the expansion of national highways worth ₹4,850 crore. These road projects will boost trade and defense connectivity, particularly in border regions near Pakistan.

Furthermore, PM Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for 25 vital state government projects in Rajasthan, focusing on strengthening infrastructure, healthcare, power supply, water access, and overall connectivity in the state.

The Thursday event marks a significant stride in India’s ongoing mission to modernize its transportation and civic infrastructure while preserving its cultural roots.
