PM Kisan Scheme: 20th Instalment of ₹2,000 Released, Check Eligibility and eKYC Process

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today released the 20th instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme, transferring ₹20,500 crore directly into the accounts of 9.7 crore farmers. Each eligible farmer will receive ₹2,000 as part of this cycle. The event took place during the Prime Minister’s visit to his constituency, Varanasi.

Since its launch in 2019, the scheme has credited over ₹3.69 lakh crore to farmers across 19 instalments, offering crucial financial assistance to small and marginal farmers.

🌾 What is PM-Kisan?

The PM-Kisan scheme provides ₹6,000 annually to eligible farmers in three equal instalments of ₹2,000. The funds are transferred every four months directly to beneficiaries’ bank accounts to support agricultural expenses and reduce financial stress.

✅ Who is Eligible?

To receive the instalment, farmers must:

♦ Be Indian citizens owning cultivable land with valid land records.

♦ Link their Aadhaar number with their bank account.

♦ Complete eKYC verification.

⚠️ Not eligible: Income tax payers, pensioners, and individuals employed in government or public sector jobs.

🔑 Importance of eKYC

Completing eKYC (Know Your Customer) is mandatory to receive funds. Without it, farmers risk missing their instalment.

📲 Modes of eKYC for Farmers

Farmers can choose from three verification modes:

1. 📌 OTP-based eKYC – Available on PM-Kisan portal and mobile app.

2. 📌 Biometric-based eKYC – At Common Service Centres (CSCs) and State Seva Kendras (SSKs).

3. 📌 Face Authentication-based eKYC – Via the PM Kisan mobile app.
