Over 100 Delhi Flights Cancelled Amid Dense Fog; IndiGo, AAI Warn of Delays
Over 130 flights were cancelled at Delhi’s IGI Airport due to dense fog, with AAI and airlines warning passengers of delays across North India.

Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) located in India saw the cancellation of over 130 flights due to heavy fog that really hindered the visibility on Saturday. On top of that, the airport officials said that poor weather conditions were the primary cause of the interruption in flight operations which eventually led to the cancellation of 63 departures and 66 arrivals.
The Airports Authority of India (AAI) and the airlines combined cautioned the passengers of delays in the entire northern India and suggested to them to keep track of the flight schedules.

IndiGo posted on Twitter at midday: “The fog and poor visibility at Ranchi, Jammu, and Hindon airports might have an impact on the flight schedule. We are monitoring the situation closely and ensuring all possible measures for the safety of our passengers.” We kindly ask you to keep yourself updated on your flight status.” Moreover, the airline assured full support to the passengers affected by the situation and soon anticipated getting back to normal operations once the weather cleared up.
AAI Statement:
The AAI had performed its part of the job quite evidently by 11 AM when it expressed the worry that low visibility would be the cause of the said delays and disruptions at some of the airports in North India. The passengers were advised to stay in touch with sorting out the official aircraft updates and to allow extra time for transiting through the airport. On top of this, the authority had stationed special passenger facilitation teams at airports to assist travelers during the disruptions.
North India might still experience foggy conditions at some places over the weekend, and this could affect some of the other airports facing the same issues.
