NSG, Uttar Pradesh police go high-tech to secure Maha Kumbh; Drones, AI cameras deployed

The stage is set for the Maha Kumbh festivities in Uttar Pradesh, with the police team prepared to ensure safety and security. The Yogi Adityanath administration has made elaborate arrangements and alerted security forces about possible threats. High-tech measures include AI-enabled CCTV cameras and advanced gear for the police. Additionally, the UP Police will deploy 'underwater drones' to monitor water bodies, preventing potential miscreant activities.

National Security Guard (NSG) commandos will also be present, ensuring the security of VIPs such as the Prime Minister, President, and Chief Ministers during their visits.

According to a PTI report, 'underwater drones' capable of diving up to 100 meters will be used for round-the-clock surveillance in the Sangam area, marking a first for the Maha Kumbh.

To ensure the safety and efficiency of the event, 2,700 AI-enabled cameras will provide real-time monitoring and facial recognition at entry points. A team of 56 cyber warriors will monitor online threats, and cyber help desks will be established in all police stations.

Over 50,000 personnel, including paramilitary forces, will be deployed to maintain order and assist attendees. A state-of-the-art multi-disaster response vehicle will enhance safety and disaster readiness, capable of handling situations ranging from natural disasters to road accidents. This vehicle includes a lifting bag with a capacity of 10-20 tonnes and specialized machines to lift and move heavy objects up to 1.5 tonnes.

For healthcare, temporary hospitals with surgical and diagnostic facilities will be set up. The "Bhishma Cube," capable of treating up to 200 people simultaneously, will be deployed.
