L-Angel International Volunteers' Association (LAIVA) on Sunday announced its resolve to take up more projects for welfare of aged persons and parentless children.
A team of donors from Japan, who held an interactive meet with the members of Rotary Club of Visakha Valley, on Sunday said they will be visiting the tribal areas of Visakhapatnam to take up some projects. At a meeting held here, they distributed a cash scholarship of Rs.12,000 to 30 children from government and Zilla Parishad and municipal schools.
International coordinator of LAIVA and past president of Rotary Club of Visakha Valley M.V. Janakiram said the non-profit organisation has been involved in philanthropic organisations for the past 30 years. He said the members from Japan are on a visit to Visakhapatnam to take up some new projects by pooling up resources from their savings.He said merit scholarships were given to poor students for the seventh year in a row.
