NIRF Ranking 2025: NLSIU Bengaluru tops the law colleges list, followed by NLU Delhi and NALSAR Hyderabad.

The National Law School of India University (NLSIU), located in Bengaluru, has once again taken the top spot on the National Institutional Ranking Framework's (NIRF) 2025 annual list of the country's top-performing law schools. NLSIU has won the law category for the eighth year in a row.
In 17 categories, including law, engineering, management, medicine, pharmacy, research, and universities, the Ministry of Education released the rankings.

- 1st – National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru
- 2nd – National Law University (NLU), Delhi
- 3rd – NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad
- 4th – West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (WBNUJS), Kolkata
- 5th – Gujarat National Law University (GNLU), Gandhinagar
- 6th – Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi
- 7th – Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur
- 8th – National Law University, Jodhpur
- 9th – Symbiosis Law School, Pune
- 10th – Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), Bhubaneswar
NIRF Law Rankings: Last Year vs This Year
- In 2023, NLSIU scored 80.52 points, improving from 78.00 in 2022.
- NLU Delhi retained its second spot with 73.91 points.
- NALSAR Hyderabad rose from fourth in 2022 to third in 2023 with 73.76 points.
- WBNUJS Kolkata moved from fifth in 2022 to fourth in 2023 with 69.34 points.
- Interestingly, IIT Kharagpur, which was in seventh place last year, climbed up to fourth place in 2025, showcasing significant improvement.
