The Library of the National Insurance Academy (NIA), Pune, successfully organised an Elocution Competition on the occasion of Librarian’s Day, commemorating Dr SR Ranganathan, the father of Library Science in India. The event celebrated his legacy while promoting public speaking and intellectual engagement among students.
The competition was graced by BC Patnaik, Director, NIA, as the Chief Guest. In his inspiring address, he applauded the participants for their clarity of thought, effective communication, and stage presence, emphasising the importance of such platforms in building leadership skills.
Dr Sanjay Mali, Principal, NIA, attended the event and praised the Library’s efforts in organising initiatives that foster academic growth beyond the classroom.
Serving as Guest of Honour, Pramod Ranjan Mishra highlighted the vital role of public speaking in both professional and personal development, encouraging students to continue honing their communication skills.
The event was judged by Sandeep Pandey and Dr Ravi Jaidewak, who provided valuable feedback to participants.
Shri Shariyan Ahmed, Librarian, NIA, played a pivotal role in conceptualising and organising the competition. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to the dignitaries, judges, participants, and audience for contributing to the success of the event.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks, reaffirming the Library’s commitment to fostering learning beyond the classroom and honouring the vision of Dr. S. Ranganathan.
