he Indian SUV market is set to witness a significant shake-up as several popular models are poised for major facelifts and new-generation launches by the end of 2025. These upcoming vehicles promise comprehensive design overhauls, advanced technology, and revamped interiors, making it an opportune time for prospective SUV buyers to hold off on their purchases.
Here's a look at some of the highly anticipated new-generation SUVs expected to break cover soon:
Hyundai Venue: A Fresh Face and Tech Upgrades
The Hyundai Venue is expected to receive a significant facelift. Recent sightings of test mules in both Korea and India strongly suggest an imminent launch. The new Venue is anticipated to feature a refreshed front fascia and a more spacious, updated cabin with a larger touchscreen infotainment system. While the exterior will see a new design, the existing powertrain options – a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine – are likely to be carried over, paired with both manual and automatic transmissions.
Mahindra Bolero: A Complete Rework
Mahindra is set to completely revamp its iconic Bolero. Moving beyond mere badge engineering, the new Bolero is expected to be an entirely new offering, likely built on a flexible, new platform. This architecture, slated for launch on August 15, is designed to support both conventional and electric vehicle powertrains, hinting at potential hybrid or EV variants in the future. The new Bolero aims to blend its traditional ruggedness with modern sophistication, offering a fresh take on the beloved utility vehicle.
Kia Seltos: Enhanced Design and Potential Hybrid Power
Kia is also gearing up to launch an all-new Seltos by the end of 2025. Spied testing multiple times in both overseas and Indian markets, the new model is expected to sport a host of new design accents, including updated LED headlamps, redesigned alloy wheels, and vertical tail lamps. The interior is anticipated to be more premium, featuring dual 12.3-inch screens for the instrument cluster and infotainment, along with a new center console. There's also a strong possibility of a new strong hybrid version and an all-wheel-drive variant being introduced.
MG ZS EV: Next-Gen Update with V2L Tech
Following its petrol counterpart, the MG Astor, the MG ZS EV is also slated for a new-generation update. A recent price drop for the current model further fuels speculation of an impending facelift. While it will reportedly be based on a slightly older 2017 platform, the new ZS EV, expected to launch in India by 2026, will likely offer a larger battery, enhanced amenities, and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology, allowing the car to power external devices. The company is also expected to offer a Battery-as-a-Service plan.
