Zuno General Insurance, formerly Edelweiss General Insurance, has launched an innovative road safety campaign, "The Talking Zebra," to promote responsible driving habits through engaging interactions at traffic signals in six major cities.
As part of its commitment to safer roads and in alignment with January's Road Safety Month declared by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), Zuno General Insurance introduced "The Talking Zebra" campaign. Running from January 16 to 25, the initiative features a witty zebra mascot interacting with motorists and pedestrians at busy traffic signals in Mumbai, Goa, Kolkata, Delhi, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru.
The mascot, embodied by a promoter dressed as a zebra, uses humor and interactive messages to emphasize road safety practices, such as respecting zebra crossings, stopping at red lights, and avoiding jaywalking. The campaign’s tagline, "Keep your cool, follow traffic rules," aims to foster a culture of responsible road usage.
“Road safety is a shared responsibility, and this campaign blends education with entertainment to inspire positive behaviour,” said Shanai Ghosh, MD & CEO of Zuno General Insurance. She also highlighted the company's telematics-based Pay-How-You-Drive (PHYD) program, which rewards good driving with insurance premium discounts, further incentivizing safer roads.
