Mumbai is still dealing with waterlogging, travel delays, and disruptions following 48 hours of nonstop rain. With moderate showers predicted for today, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Pune, Thane, and Raigad, while keeping Mumbai under an orange alert.

In light of additional waterlogging and flood-like conditions, the IMD has advised residents to remain indoors unless absolutely necessary.

- The BMC has not yet provided an official statement regarding today's school closures in Mumbai.

Chembur Monorail Accident
A power outage left a Mumbai monorail with more than 200 passengers stuck between two stations for almost three hours. All passengers were safely evacuated thanks to rescue efforts by the MMRDA, fire department, and municipal teams.
Local Flights & Trains
By Tuesday evening, local train service had returned to the Central line, while the Harbour line had done the same early on Wednesday.
Churchgate–Borivali, Virar–Dadar, and Nalla Sopara–Andheri were among the Western line services that were cancelled.
Due to traffic at the Mumbai airport and waterlogged roads, airlines such as IndiGo, Akasa Air, and Air India have issued travel advisories, warning of delays.
Rain Impact in Maharashtra
Floods were caused by the Nanded Cloudburst on August 18; 300 people were rescued by SDRF, and five people went missing.
At least ten fatalities, including six on Tuesday alone, have been reported in Maharashtra in the past 48 hours.
Pune Update: Following intense rain and water release from Khadakwasla Dam, flooding has been reported close to Morya Gosavi Temple.
