Mumbai will face a 24-hour water cut on Dec 12–13 as BMC conducts major pipeline work across K/East, H/East and G/North wards, affecting several neighbourhoods.
BMC announces 24-hour water shutdown in multiple Mumbai wards for major pipeline upgrade.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has informed that there will be major pipeline connection work going on in K/East, H/East, and G/North wards, which will lead to a water shutdown for 24 hours in different parts of the city on December 12 and 13, 2025.
The shut down of water supply will be from 9 a.m. on Friday, December 12, until 9 a.m. on Saturday, December 13. The maintenance work will cause a complete water outage in various areas while only the K/East ward will have a low-pressure supply.
Why the Water Cut Is Necessary
As per the officials, the project connects the large water lines in the following manner: 1800 mm Tansa West line, 1200 mm main, 2400 mm Vaitarna main, and a 1500 mm pipeline in the G/North ward among others.
The civic body stated that these upgrades are crucial to strengthening the city’s long-term water infrastructure and must be completed in one continuous stretch.
