Mother Dairy Hikes Milk Prices by ₹2/Litre

Amid surging input costs, country's leading milk supplier Mother Dairy went ahead to increase the price of milk by ₹2 per litre. The price has been increased in all the markets where the company has a presence.
Via its own outlets, general trade and e-commerce platforms, Mother Dairy sells about 35 liters of milk in the Delhi-NCR region. It also has a sizable presence in states like Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand and Bihar.
According to Mother Dairy, the company was forced to increase the milk prices as procurement costs of milk have increased.
“This price revision has been necessitated to address the significant increase in procurement costs, which have gone up by ₹4-5 per litre over the past few months,” a Mother Dairy official said on late Tuesday.
The surge in procurement costs can be attributed to an earlier-than-expected summer and extreme heatwave conditions, the official said.
In Delhi-NCR, the prices of toned milk surged to ₹56 per litre from ₹54 per litre earlier.
Prices of full-cream milk (pouched) and toned milk (pouched) are now up by ₹1 per litre to ₹69 per litre and ₹57 per litre. Double-toned milk has become costlier by ₹2 per litre to ₹51 per litre. The price of cow milk now stands at ₹59 per litre against the earlier ₹57 per litre.
Mother Dairy consists of 9 company-owned dairy processing plants with a total capacity of more than 50 lakh litre per day.
