Mid-Air Scare: Air India San Francisco-Delhi Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Mongolia After Technical Issue

Air India flight (AI174), which was traveling from San Francisco to Delhi with a stopover in Kolkata, had a mid-air panic situation and made an emergency landing in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, after the flight crew discovered a technical problem on the way.

The airline gave a statement confirming the occurrence, saying,

“AI174 of November 2, which is flying from San Francisco to Delhi via Kolkata, made a precautionary landing in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, after the flight crew suspected a technical problem during the flight.”

Air India said that the aircraft landed without incident at the airport of Ulaanbaatar and that there were no injuries. "The aircraft is now undergoing the required technical inspections," the airline stated.

The airline also stated that they would take care of the passengers and that their journey to Delhi would be continued as soon as possible. "We are collaborating with our airline partners to ensure the comfort of all passengers while we do our best to get everyone on their way at the earliest opportunity. The inconvenience caused by this unexpected situation is regrettable," the spokesperson mentioned.

Air India reiterated that the safety of passengers and crew was still the company's paramount concern.

The specific count of the people who were traveling has not yet been revealed but at the same time, all the travelers were given shelter at the airport while the checks were going on.
