Massive Explosion at Sigachi Chemical Factory in Sangareddy: 8 Dead, Several Injured

A devastating explosion rocked the Sigachi Chemical Factory in Pashamilaram Industrial Estate, Sangareddy district, on Monday morning, resulting in the deaths of 8 workers and injuring over a dozen others. The accident occurred around 10 AM on June 30, 2025, sparking panic in the area and triggering a large-scale emergency response.

🚨 Explosion Details and Casualties

Five workers died on the spot due to the blast.

Three more succumbed to injuries at a nearby hospital in Patancheru.

Over 12 workers sustained serious injuries; two are reported to be in critical condition.

The explosion was powerful enough to destroy the factory shed, collapse a building, and throw some workers as far as 100 meters away.

“Some workers are still feared to be trapped inside,” said a police official from Patancheru station.

The cause of the explosion is still under investigation. According to eyewitnesses, a sudden blast ripped through the production unit of Sigachi Industries Pvt. Ltd, a manufacturer of microcrystalline cellulose and pharma ingredients.

11 fire engines and local police rushed to the spot.

Firefighting teams are still trying to control the thick smoke and ongoing fire.

Emergency evacuation was initiated for nearby areas due to toxic fumes.

Sangareddy District Collector P. Pravinya and SP Paritosh Pankaj reached the scene to supervise rescue operations.

Evacuation efforts were launched for residents in surrounding areas due to respiratory hazards.

He directed officials to “ensure the safety of remaining workers and provide advanced medical treatment to the injured.”
