KT Rama Rao Alleges Law and Order Failure After Tractor Attack in Telangana Village
KTR alleges a Congress sarpanch candidate injured five people, including a child, in a tractor attack, questioning police action and law and order in Telangana.
BRS working president KT Rama Rao addresses the media over alleged tractor attack and police inaction in Telangana.

On Tuesday, the working president of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) K.T. Rama Rao took the Telangana Congress government to task as he played the incident of the Congress sarpanch candidate’s violence along with the muzzling of the law and order situation.
KTR, at the press conference, told that a tractor pulled by a Congress-supported sarpanch candidate had been driven into a crowd, and about five persons, among them a five-year-old child, were injured. According to him, two persons of the injured are in critical condition at present.
KTR branded it as "a shocking and inhuman act" and suggested that it was an indication of the collapse of order and peace in the state. He went on to say that the police were slow in responding at the beginning, and he even accused them of being partial in their actions.
Query about Police Reaction
KTR questioned the reason for the delay in registering the case and the police action only after he had personally called the Superintendent of Police. He also pointed to the very minor charges and indicated that there was only one person who had been charged with trying to murder even though quite a number were said to be directly involved.
He exclaimed, “At least five people plotted and took part in this brutal attack,” and insisted on an explanation from the Director General of Police (DGP) regarding the wait in case and the limited number of arrests made.
Warning to the Government
The BRS leader sent a strong signal that the lack of a decisive action might lead to very severe repercussions. “In case the government acts inappropriately, it will surely have to bear the brunt,” KTR warned and added that the worse the law and order situation gets, the more the police and the administration will be responsible.
He pointed out that the authorities and not the opposition are the ones who should be held accountable and therefore called upon the government to make sure justice is done for the victims and at the same time win back the trust of the public in policing.
The event has been a political flashpoint in Telangana with the BRS demanding severe punitive measures and full disclosure while waiting for an official reply from the state government and police authorities.
