Kerala Onam Bumper Lottery Winner Rs 25 Crore – Sharath S Nair Returns to Work

Winning a lottery can be life-changing, especially for middle-class earners. For Sharath S Nair, a paint shop worker from Nettoor, Kochi, life took a dramatic turn when he won Rs 25 crore in the Onam Bumper Lottery.

The Winning Ticket

Sharath, a native of Thuravoor, Alappuzha, purchased the ticket TH 577825 from Nettoor. He submitted it at the State Bank of India branch in Thaikkattussery, Thuravoor, and soon realized he had won the first prize.

Recalling the moment, Sharath told Manorama News,

“I was at work when the results came out. I first notified my brother, and we confirmed the number together. We decided to announce it after submitting the ticket to the bank. Everyone at home is overjoyed. I have not yet planned what to do with the prize money.”

Sharath revealed that, aside from his immediate family, no one knew about the win until the ticket was officially verified. This was also his first time purchasing an Onam Bumper ticket.

Life After Winning

Even after securing the massive prize, Sharath returned to work the very next day. His colleagues gave him a warm welcome, and he distributed sweets among his co-workers. A special felicitation ceremony was also organised by the company’s Managing Directors to honour him.

In a gesture of humility, Sharath commuted by public bus and visited the lottery shop where he bought the ticket, personally congratulating the agent, Latheesh.

Plans for the Future

Sharath has stated that he will consult a financial professional before making any major decisions regarding his winnings. Currently, he has no plans to quit his job and expressed interest in continuing to buy lottery tickets in the future.

“I think I’ll continue to buy lotteries,” Sharath said with a smile, reflecting his grounded nature despite the life-changing windfall.
