All government, aided, private, primary and high schools, anganwadi centres, and pre-university colleges in Dakshina Kannada district will remain closed today (July 25) due to heavy rainfall warnings, officials confirmed.
Holiday Declared as Precaution
The district administration announced the holiday following alerts from the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC), which predicted intense rainfall over the next 24 hours.
Weather Alert from IMD
Strong winds (30–40 kmph) and heavy to very heavy rainfall are predicted for portions of the districts of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Uttara Kannada today, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Authorities Encourage Caution
Until weather conditions improve, officials have recommended citizens to avoid non-essential travel, especially in fragile and flood-prone areas.
