The Indian Railways is set to launch another chapter in religious tourism with the relaunch of the Shri Ramayana Yatra, a 17-day spiritual journey aboard the Bharat Gaurav Deluxe AC Tourist Train. This rail tour, organized by IRCTC, will commence from Delhi’s Safdarjung Railway Station on July 15, 2025, covering major destinations associated with the life of Lord Ram.

Route and Destinations

The train will traverse approximately 7,600 km, taking pilgrims across a wide arc of India and even into Janakpur, Nepal. Key destinations on the route include:

  • Ayodhya – Shri Ram Janmabhoomi, Hanuman Garhi, Ram Ki Paidi
  • Nandigram – Bharat Mandir
  • Sitamarhi & Janakpur (Nepal) – Sita’s birthplace, Ram Janki Temple
  • Buxar – Ramrekha Ghat, Rameshwarnath Temple
  • Varanasi – Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Ganga Aarti, Tulsi Mandir, Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple
  • Prayagraj, Shringverpur & Chitrakoot – Covered by road with overnight stays
  • Nashik – Trimbakeshwar Temple, Panchvati
  • Hampi – Kishkindha region, Anjaneya Hill, Vitthala and Virupaksha Temples
  • Rameshwaram – Ramanathaswamy Temple, Dhanushkodi

The tour concludes back in Delhi on Day 17.

Train Features and Booking Options

The Bharat Gaurav Deluxe AC Tourist Train offers AC First, Second, and Third Class accommodations for up to 150 pilgrims. Boarding and deboarding points include Delhi, Ghaziabad, Aligarh, Tundla, Etawah, Kanpur, and Lucknow.
