IPL 2024 SRH v LSG: Just another day in office for SRH - breaking records

Rewriting records has become a habit for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League. The SRH openers broke several records as they sent LSG on a leather hunt to score 167 runs in less than 10 overs and help their team to a 10-wicket win.

Travis Head scored an unbeaten 89 off just 30 balls, striking at a rate of 296.67, while Abhishek Sharma scored an unbeaten 75 off just 28 balls with a strike rate of 267.86 as SRH scored 167 in 9.4 overs to annihilate LSG.

The duo struck 14 sixes and 16 fours as the LSG bowlers were unable to stop the carnage. Krishnappa Gowtham was the least economical bowler with a rate of 14.50 runs per over, while all the other bowlers logged in an excess of 17 runs per over.

Head scored his 50 in just 16 balls while Abhishek got to his half century in just 18 balls as the duo got to a 100-run partnership for the second time in the powerplay. The first time the duo scored 100 in the powerplay was against Delhi Capitals when they got to the coveted mark in just 30 balls, four balls less than what they managed against LSG on Wednesday night.

Only seven times teams in the world have scored 100 or more runs in the powerplay in all T20 cricket, with SRH achieving the feat twice, in a single season.
