Several flights, conducted by the all-mighty IndiGo, SpiceJet, Akasa Air, and Air India Express, were delayed at various airports in India early on December 3 after a significant worldwide failure in Microsoft Windows systems, an occurrence which reportedly disrupted airport check-in and boarding processes.
The PTI reports indicated that all flight schedules were thrown into disarray as airlines were compelled to switch to manual methods due to the system's failure.
In one passenger advisory at the Varanasi Airport, it was stated that:
"Microsoft Windows is experiencing major service outages globally, impacting IT services and check-in systems at airports."

There have been delays at least for IndiGo, SpiceJet, Akasa Air and Air India Express due to the outages.
The staggering implications could be now seen at the Bengaluru Airport, where IndiGo canceled 42 flights today.

IndiGo accepted the delays and cancellations, mentioning:
“In recent days, due to some technical issues, airport congestion, and operational requirements, we are running some major delays with aircraft from time to time throughout the day. Our team is dedicated to getting this back on track.”
The airline said it is providing affected passengers a refund or the option of rebooking and also requested all passengers to check out the flight status before heading to the airport.

🛫 A Response from the Airport Authority:
Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL) confirmed the operational problems through a post on X at 7:40 A. M., reading:
"Some domestic airlines are currently experiencing operational challenges and may lead to delays. Our on-ground teams are working with stakeholders to ensure smooth passenger handling."
There has been no official statement from Microsoft, or indeed any other airline, regarding the cause of the outage.
