An IndiGo flight from Delhi to Bagdogra made an emergency landing in Lucknow after a bomb threat message was found inside a toilet onboard. All passengers were safely evacuated as security agencies conducted thorough checks.

An IndiGo Airlines flight operating from Delhi to Bagdogra was forced to make an emergency landing at Lucknow airport on Sunday after a bomb threat was detected onboard, police officials said.

According to Assistant Commissioner of Police Rajneesh Verma, a handwritten message claiming the presence of a bomb was found on a tissue paper inside one of the aircraft’s toilets. The threat was discovered while the flight, numbered 6E-6650, was en route to Bagdogra.

The aircraft landed safely at Lucknow airport at around 9:17 am. It was carrying 230 passengers, including 222 adults and eight infants, along with two pilots and five cabin crew members.

Following the landing, the aircraft was immediately moved to an isolation bay as a precautionary measure. Security agencies, including the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and the bomb disposal squad, were deployed to conduct a detailed inspection of the aircraft.

All passengers were safely evacuated and subjected to security screening, while a comprehensive search of the plane and surrounding areas at the airport was carried out. No injuries were reported.

Authorities said they received information about the bomb threat at around 8:46 am after air traffic control alerted local agencies about the message found onboard. Further investigation into the source and credibility of the threat is currently underway.
