Hyderabad is set to add another landmark attraction with the construction of India’s largest tunnel aquarium at Kothwalguda, with an estimated investment of ₹300 crore. The mega project is being developed jointly by Multiverse Hotels, Polin Aquariums, and the Kadol Group under a public-private partnership (PPP) model.
The forthcoming aquarium, which is going to be a top-notch one, will cover an area of nearly 1.75 lakh square feet, and it is almost ready to be unveiled to the public next year. The government of Telangana will be the one to give the land along with the necessary construction and environmental clearances for the project.
Main Highlights
As per the project, the tunnel aquarium will have a 100-meter-long curved tunnel, a 3.5-meter-wide walkway, and 3 million litres of water as its massive capacity. It will be a place where up to 3,000 people can come and enjoy the aquarium at once.
The aquarium will have about 10,000 species of both marine and land creatures which will be presented in a variety of around 300. An underwater restaurant is going to be one of the main attractions, providing customers with a distinct dining experience.
Partners and Expertise
Polin Aquariums will serve as the technical partner for the project, bringing its global expertise in aquarium design and execution. Multiverse Hotels contributes its experience in the hospitality sector, while the Kadol Group will handle infrastructure-related services.
A New Addition to Hyderabad’s Skyline
The undertaking is a segment of a chain of creative inventions set up for Hyderabad. Future City, where the state government has already declared an international-standard zoo park, is going to be the location of the new aquarium, which is seen as a facilitating factor for the city to be more attractive as a primary tourism and entertainment hub.
