India demonstrated its advanced strategic and defensive capabilities on Wednesday by successfully completing the test-firing of its Agni 5 intermediate-range ballistic missile.
The missile was fired from the Integrated Test Range (ITR) in Chandipur, Odisha, according to the Ministry of Defence. An important milestone for India's missile development program was reached when the test confirmed all operational and technical parameters.

The Strategic Forces Command, which is in charge of India's nuclear arsenal and long-range missile systems, authorised the launch, officials added.
The Agni 5 missile, with an estimated range of over 5,000 km, strengthens India’s deterrence capability and strategic preparedness in the region.
