India expels another Pakistani diplomat for 'Improper Activities', gives 24-hour deadline

In a firm diplomatic move, India has declared another Pakistani official posted at the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi as persona non grata, directing the individual to leave the country within 24 hours.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), in an official statement issued on Wednesday, stated that the Pakistani official was found indulging in activities "not in keeping with his official status in India." As a result, the Government of India took the decision to expel him immediately.
“The Government of India has declared a Pakistani official, working at the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi, persona non grata for indulging in activities not in keeping with his official status in India. The official has been asked to leave India within 24 hours,” the MEA said.
A demarche was issued to the Charge d’Affaires of the Pakistan High Commission, urging Islamabad to ensure that its diplomats in India do not misuse their official privileges or status.
This development comes just over a week after India expelled another Pakistani diplomat on May 13 for alleged involvement in espionage. That expulsion followed a high-level briefing by a senior Indian military official to defence attachés and envoys from around 70 countries, detailing Operation Sindoor — a counterterrorism operation launched in response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam.
Tensions between the two countries have heightened in recent weeks as India intensifies its diplomatic and security responses to cross-border threats.
