India cracks down on Pakistan with trade and postal bans after Pahalgam Attack

In a strong retaliatory move following the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 people—many of them tourists including children—India has imposed sweeping new restrictions against Pakistan.
The Indian government has now:
Banned all Pakistani merchant ships from docking at any Indian port
Stopped all imports from Pakistan, including indirect routes
Halted all postal services to and from Pakistan
These decisions come amid heightened tensions between the two nations, as New Delhi holds Islamabad accountable for harboring terror groups operating across the border.
The clampdown marks one of India’s most aggressive non-military responses in recent years, aiming to increase diplomatic and economic pressure on Pakistan following the Pahalgam tragedy.
