The Indo-German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC) hosted the inaugural IGCC Industry Dialogue 2025 in New Delhi, bringing together over 300 stakeholders from business, government, and diplomacy. Supported by the German Embassy, Germany Trade & Invest (GTAI), and GIZ’s Indo-German Energy Forum Support Office (IGEF-SO), the forum served as a high-level platform to drive industrial innovation, sustainability, and bilateral cooperation.
Jan Noether, Director General, IGCC, highlighted the strong commitment of the 2,000+ German companies active in India, noting that the Dialogue offered “an excellent forum for information exchange and collaboration.” Georg Enzweiler, Chargé d'Affaires, German Embassy, praised the initiative as vital for addressing business challenges while identifying new opportunities to expand Indo-German footprints. Seema Bhardwaj, Director, Germany Trade & Invest (GTAI) and Farhad Vania, Country Office New Delhi Senior Portfolio Advisor, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) also underscored the growing scope of cooperation in industrial transformation.
A panel on Unlocking the Green Economy brought together industry and finance leaders to explore ways India and Germany can jointly accelerate the green transition. Siemens Energy India emphasized scaling clean technologies for growth and decarbonization. EDAG India highlighted German standards in Indian manufacturing. TÜV SÜD stressed robust frameworks to ensure trust in green projects. KfW Development Bank showcased Indo-German cooperation in solar, wind, hydropower, and the Green Energy Corridor.
Discussions covered grid modernization, green hydrogen, and financing mechanisms such as blended finance and PPPs. The session reaffirmed the complementarity of German technology and India’s market scale in driving sustainable growth.
In the session Beyond Automation – The Strategic Value of Smart Logistics, industry leaders emphasized efficiency, collaboration, and technology integration. Rhenus Logistics called for standardized infrastructure, DHL highlighted the link between logistics costs and ease of doing business, and Lufthansa Cargo stressed technology’s role in bridging skill gaps. Panelists expressed optimism about India meeting its logistics targets by 2030, with significant opportunities for investment and growth.
A fireside chat between Jan Noether and Varda Taneja (Federation of European Business in India) highlighted the transformative potential of the EU-India Free Trade Agreement. The discussion emphasized lowering trade barriers, addressing regulatory challenges, and unlocking opportunities in green technologies, pharmaceuticals, and digital services—while strengthening resilient supply chains amid global uncertainties.
The forum featured lead partners EDAG and Phoenix Contact, alongside DHL, Infineon Technologies, TÜV SÜD, BMW, Henkel, Rhenus Logistics, and Orafol.
The IGCC Industry Dialogue 2025 set a forward-looking agenda for Indo-German collaboration, reaffirming the Chamber’s commitment to fostering innovation, strategic partnerships, and sustainable industrial growth. With strong institutional backing and active industry participation, the Dialogue underscored the transformative potential of Indo-German cooperation in shaping the future of industrial transformation.
