State-wise Cut-Off Details
Due to the unavailability of a precise standard for the cut-off scores, the states differ from one another. The number of vacancies, the difficulty level of the paper, and the number of applicants are the contributors to this situation. Furthermore, some states have set up high cut-off marks while others remain moderate.
The cut-off was very high in the states of Chandigarh (86.50), Delhi (84.00), Uttarakhand (85.00), Himachal Pradesh (82.75), and Punjab (81.00). On the contrary, Gujarat (45.25), Karnataka (46.00), Tamil Nadu (45.25), Telangana (46.25), and Manipur (52.00)—states with relatively lower cut-off scores.
The different noteworthy cut-offs in various states are Odisha (not declared), West Bengal (78.50), Rajasthan (77.50), Uttar Pradesh (69.75), Madhya Pradesh (69.00), Chhattisgarh (66.75), Assam (65.75), Jharkhand (74.50), Haryana (78.50), and Maharashtra (46.25). Andhra Pradesh cut-off was 64.50 and Bihar 61.25.
Section-wise Cut Off
In an effort to have a fair distribution of scores for each subject, IBPS also released subject-wise cut-offs.
Reasoning Ability, Numerical Ability and English Language qualifying marks were set at 13.50, 15.75 and 15.25 respectively.
Why Cut-Offs Differ Across States
Different states' IBPS Clerk cut-offs are due to the fact that every state has a unique vacancy structure, reservation categories, and candidate density. Also, the exam's difficulty each year influences score fluctuations. Consequently, naturally, in states with more competition and fewer seats, there will be higher qualifying marks.
Where to Check the Cut-Off?
The online platform of IBPS is where the candidates can check their state-wise cut-off and scorecard after logging in with their registration credentials.
