Under the leadership of City Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Standing Committee approved fourteen development projects, marking a significant step towards improving Hyderabad's urban environment. As a group, the newly elected committee members made great strides in resolving civic concerns and upcoming development projects during the meeting. A new bridge across the Moosarambagh Musi River and numerous lake restoration projects funded by corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives were among the major approvals.

As part of its ambitious agenda, the GHMC showcased a modern approach to urban management by implementing a GIS-based survey mapping system to identify properties and utilities within GHMC limits. The goal of this project is to create a more structured framework for urban development and to simplify the process of collecting property taxes. Also, a proactive step against urban flooding and waterlogging, a common problem during monsoon seasons, was approved by the committee to upgrade the stormwater drainage pipelines at Ellamma Pond, Kukatpally, from 1200 mm to 1600 mm.

Among the approved projects, the memorandums of understanding (MoUs) signed with the United Way of Hyderabad Agency for balance development works at Nanak Ramguda Rangalal Kunta and other areas are noteworthy. These areas will be an important step towards achieving urban ecological balance. The GHMC's dedication to utilizing CSR for sustainable development is demonstrated by the involvement of NGOs such as Dhruvansh Organisation and Nirman Organisation in the restoration and maintenance of local ponds. These projects have multiple goals: improving the city's aesthetics, increasing biodiversity, and creating community recreational areas.
