Hyderabad Traffic Advisory for December 20: Avoid Key Routes Due to Diversions and VVIP Movement

Commuters in Hyderabad are advised to plan their travel carefully on Friday, December 20, as traffic diversions and restrictions will be in place across several parts of the city due to infrastructure work and VVIP movement.
According to City Traffic Joint Commissioner of Police Joel Davis, traffic diversions will continue until December 21 in view of ongoing skywalk construction near the Mehdipatnam Rythu Bazaar. In the course of the project, the closure of two lanes on the stretch between Rethibowli junction and S.D. eye hospital has caused potential traffic congestion in the area.
Alternate paths for motorists
The path that the motorists use for their trip from Attapur to Banjara Hills is via Rethibowli – Nanal Nagar Junction – Film Nagar – Banjara Hills.
Another possibility for the people on the way from Attapur to Nampally is using Gudimalkapur – Yadav Bhavan – Miraj Café Junction (right turn) – Asif Nagar – Mallepally – Nampally as their route.
Drivers from Toli Chowki to Nampally and Lakdikapool can take the longer route via Nanal Nagar Junction – Balika Bhavan – Lakshmi Nagar – Pillar No. 68 – U-turn at Pillar No. 57 – Gudimalkapur – Yadav Bhavan – Miraj Café Junction (right turn) – Asif Nagar – Mallepally – Nampally – Lakdikapool.
Traffic curbs due to President’s visit
In addition to the diversions, traffic restrictions will be imposed in Cyberabad limits between 3 pm and 7 pm on Saturday due to the movement of President Droupadi Murmu, who is visiting Hyderabad as part of her winter break.
Cyberabad Police said traffic congestion is expected at key locations including Gachibowli, IIIT and ITC junctions. The President’s route includes Rashtrapati Nilayam, Road No. 45 Cable Bridge, IKEA Flyover, Orbit Ration Road, Deloitte, Gachibowli Junction, Indiranagar, IIIT Junction, Pullela Gopichand Academy and Brahmakumari Sanstha in Gachibowli.
Commuters have been urged to avoid these routes as far as possible during the specified hours and use alternative roads to prevent delays.
