Hyderabad is gearing up for a major addition to its retail landscape as Lakeshore Mall, touted as one of the city’s biggest malls yet, prepares to open its doors in Kukatpally on December 12. The upcoming launch follows the recent buzz around Sarath City Capital Mall being ranked among India’s top five largest malls, positioning Lakeshore Mall to elevate Hyderabad’s retail dominance even further.
The mall is said to be 32% bigger than Sarath City Capital Mall and almost twice as big as Inorbit Mall, as per the developer ASBL Landmark, and this mall is spread over a huge area of 1.66 million square feet. Although these numbers are still pending official verification from the mall management, the hype surrounding its size and design has already raised expectations to a great extent.
The new mall will host more than 100 showrooms that will showcase a wide variety of well-known national and international brands. Some of the brands that have been confirmed so far are H&M, Lifestyle, Starbucks, Max, and many more in the categories of Fashion, Tech, Lifestyle, and Food & Beverages. Additionally, PVR's luxury P[XL] format will also be a part of the entertainment area; this will be the second P[XL] screen in Hyderabad after Inorbit Mall.
Convenience also plays a big part in Lakeshore Mall’s appeal, with shoppers able to access the complex directly from the Balanagar Metro Station, making it one of Hyderabad’s few malls with dedicated metro connectivity.
Traffic Concerns Rise Among Residents
There are a lot of people's doubts about the traffic congestion that might happen to the already busy Kukatpally area, in spite of the excitement surrounding the new mall. Previous occurrences, for instance, the traffic and crowding during the opening of LuLu Mall, have led to the belief that the new commercial area might cause heavy weekend traffic and long vehicle queues.
