Gulf-Hyderabad flight operations restart in phases

Limited flight services between Gulf countries and Hyderabad resumed on Tuesday, with airlines operating special and restricted flights to clear stranded passengers after recent airspace disruptions.
Partial flight operations between Gulf countries and Hyderabad have resumed after days of uncertainty triggered by airspace restrictions across parts of the region. A handful of airlines have begun operating special and limited services to facilitate the return of stranded passengers.
Officials at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport confirmed that flight schedules remain dynamic, with operations subject to clearance from aviation authorities and ongoing assessments of the regional airspace situation.
Special evacuation flights
Among the first to restore connectivity was IndiGo, which operated a series of special evacuation flights from Jeddah to multiple Indian cities, including Hyderabad. These flights were arranged to bring back passengers whose journeys were disrupted due to sudden cancellations amid the airspace restrictions.
Passengers arriving on these services expressed relief after days of uncertainty, with many having faced last-minute itinerary changes and extended stays abroad.
Limited services by UAE carriers
UAE-based carriers Emirates and Etihad Airways have also restarted limited operations to Hyderabad. However, full-scale restoration of their regular schedules is yet to be announced.
Airline officials indicated that operations are being resumed in phases, depending on the evolving regional airspace conditions and regulatory clearances.
Several flights still suspended
Despite the partial resumption, several regular services between Hyderabad and Gulf destinations remain suspended. Airlines are closely monitoring developments before restoring normal schedules.
Airport authorities have advised passengers to check their flight status directly with respective airlines before travelling to the airport to avoid inconvenience. With schedules continuing to shift, travelers are encouraged to remain updated through official airline communication channels.
The gradual restoration of services offers relief to thousands of passengers with family, employment, and business ties between Hyderabad and Gulf nations. However, industry observers note that complete normalcy will depend on stability in regional airspace and coordinated aviation clearances.
