Guide to Managing Quests in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed Shadows is an open world adventure set in feudal Japan and packed with complex quests and rich storytelling, complete with side quests designed to add variety, depth, and variety to gameplay, character development and world building. Tracking these quests may not be as effortless as was once the case! These quests are named after targets and serve as major missions. To complete each quest, you must first complete series secondary quests that help Naoe or Yasuke to investigate the target.
This guide will show you how to navigate the game and keep track of both main quests and side missions.
How to track main quests
The main quests of Assassin's creed shadows are structured, so players will be guided naturally from one goal to another. To track them, use the following:
- Quest Menu Navigation: Open the Quest Menu in the game menu. Usually, the active main quest is displayed at top.
- Blue waypoints mark active quests. These markers guide players to the next goal.
- Scouting System: Unlike the previous Assassin’s Creed games, Shadows uses a manual scouting method where players have to locate their targets. You may be required to gather information or scout by using the environment in some main quests, which makes the experience more immersive.
How to track side quests
- The side quests of Assassin's Creed Shadows provide additional gameplay, but tracking these requires a slightly different approach.
- Find Side Quests: Side quests are not always visible on the map. Players must instead look for NPCs in the world with quest markers or hints.
- Use the Scout System. Some side quests will require you to gather information first. You will need to manually search for a blacksmith if, for example, the game mentions one in a certain region.
- Quest Log: Players can track all accepted quests using the Quest Log. It categorizes quests into main quests and side quests as well as questlines like The Kabukimono, or The Pirate Alliance.
