A massive fire late Saturday night at a famous nightclub in Arpora, North Goa, has resulted in the death of at least 25 people and 6 others with severe injuries. A person who was at the place when the fire broke out and witnessed the horrifying moments told that the fire started suddenly on the already crowded dance floor where about 100 people were partying. The fire spread so fast that the panic among the party-goers was massive as they tried to get out of the place.
During the chaos, some people ran down to the kitchen area which was almost filled with thick smoke and the smoke was already trapping the visitors and the staff there. “Visibility dropped within seconds, and everyone was desperately trying to find a way out,” the witness remembered.
All night long, the rescue operations were carried out with the emergency teams putting in their best efforts to manage the crisis. Once the reason for the incident is known, the authorities have announced that they will impose severe legal measures.
