At the IFGE India Bio-energy and Tech Expo, Nitin Gadkari, the Minister of Road Transport and Highways, highlighted the increasing significance of biofuels in India’s energy sector. Addressing concerns about the reliability of electric vehicles, Gadkari shared the impressive advancements in electric buses, cars, and scooters. He also cited his own experience with a Toyota car running on 100% biofuel, which not only generates 40-60% electricity but also costs just ₹25 per litre, much cheaper than petrol.

Gadkari emphasized that for biofuel projects to succeed, they must be economically viable, backed by proven technology, readily available raw materials, and marketable. He noted that biofuels are more cost-effective than fossil fuels and produce no pollution, offering significant benefits for the general public. Gadkari expressed optimism that as these advantages become more apparent, public support for biofuels will increase.
