Visakhapatnam: A flyover will be built at the busy Hanumanthavaka junction here at an estimated cost of Rs 40 crore, according to YSRCP regional coordinator Y V Subba Reddy.

He was speaking at the CREDAI Property Expo here. Asserting that the YSRCP Government is committed to all round development of the city, he said that he was glad that the Central Government has selected Visakhapatnam as one among four cities in the country for facilitating it as a development hub. He also referred to the need for green cover and said that the city at present has 35 per cent green cover now and the aim is to compete with Singapore which has 45 per cent green cover. To achieve this, the cooperation of Credai Visakhapatnam is essential, Subba Reddy said and applauded the efforts of Credai Visakhapatnam Chapter for its commitment to provide houses to all.

President of Credai Visakhapatnam Chapter Dharmender who presided over the meeting on the second day of expo assured that the chapter will initiate all steps to ensure green cover.

Earlier GVMC Commissioner C M Saikanth Varma said that efforts are on to ensure green cover on the terraces of housing projects. Open spaces will be developed as public parks and children’s parks, he said and asserted that the GVMC is committed to ensure a “Eco-Vizag”. He appealed to builders to set high standards of greenery in housing projects and promised all help from the GVMC in this aspect.
