The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has launched the much-awaited FASTag Annual Pass on August 15, 2025, coinciding with Independence Day. Targeted at private, non-commercial vehicles like cars, jeeps, and vans, the pass allows up to 200 toll crossings or one-year validity, whichever occurs first, on designated National Highways (NH) and Expressways (NE).
Priced at ₹3,000, the pass provides a hassle-free alternative to the traditional pay-per-entry FASTag system, allowing seamless barrier-free tolling.
On day one, the launch saw explosive demand: around 1.4 lakh purchases and activations, with simultaneous usage at toll booths nationwide.

Who’s Eligible?
Only private vehicles (cars, jeeps, vans) registered as non-commercial are allowed.

How to Activate
Install the RajmargYatra app (available on Android/iOS) or visit the NHAI website.
Select ‘Annual Pass’, enter your vehicle number, and verify eligibility.
Accept T&C, complete payment of ₹3,000 via UPI, net banking, or card.
Your pass should activate within 2 hours, and you’ll receive confirmation via SMS.
Limitations
Only valid on NH/NE toll plazas; State Highways and local roads still require standard FASTag payments.
Once 200 trips or one year elapse, the pass lapses automatically and reverts to the regular FASTag mode. Renewal is required to resume benefits.
The Annual Pass is non-transferable and tied to a specific vehicle and FASTag.
