The India Meteorological Department has issued orange and yellow alerts for 12 and seven districts, respectively, in Telangana on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, with Cyclone Montha fast approaching the Andhra Pradesh coast.

According to the latest update by the IMD, the cyclone is expected to cross the Andhra coast by Tuesday evening (October 28) during which it will cause heavy to very heavy rainfall over thunderstorms and gusty winds across various parts of Telangana.

🌧️Orange Alert for 12 Districts of Telangana

Heavy to very heavy rainfall likely at isolated places with thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds in the following districts will be accompanied by:

Adilabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Jagtial, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Mahabubabad, and Warangal.

🌦️ Seven Districts Under Yellow Alert

Heavy spells of rainfall will also be experienced in parts of:

Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Nizamabad, Rajanna Sircilla, Hanumakonda, Jangaon, Siddipet, and Yadadri-Bhongir.

Thunderstorms with lightning and strong winds are to be expected over Nizamabad, Rajanna Sircilla, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Warangal, Hanumakonda, Jangaon, Siddipet, Yadadri-Bhongir, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, and Kamareddy districts.

🌦️ Hyderabad Weather Forecast

In the next 24 hours, Hyderabad will witness generally cloudy conditions with moderate to marginally light rain/thunder showers, with showers turning heavy at times in some places.

Mist/haze is expected to prevail over certain parts in the early hours and night, as per IMD Tuesday afternoon bulletin.

Maximum Temperature: Around 29°C

Minimum Temperature: Around 21°C

It is advised that the public must remain cautious of waterlogging and must avoid traveling unnecessary during heavy rainfall. Also, they should follow updates from weather bulletins issued by the authorities themselves.

The cyclone has been steadily moving toward the coasts of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha, affecting the weather over India's southern and central portions. The system, on entering land, is expected to weaken gradually but will continue to cause widespread rains over Telangana and adjoining areas.
