The intensification of Cyclone Montha over the Bay of Bengal has led train services in Andhra Pradesh being heavily disrupted. The East Coast Railway (ECoR) has confirmed that it will cancel a number of trains operating from Visakhapatnam on October 27 and 28, with some services also being stopped on October 29 as a preventive measure.
Officials stated that these cancellations were made with the purpose of safeguarding the passengers amidst the cyclone's heavy rainfall and powerful winds which are likely to affect the north coastal area.

Moreover, some long-distance trains that are or will be running through Visakhapatnam Junction have also been canceled as a precaution against the cyclone's expected area of influence and heavy rain prediction.
Railway Official’s Guidance
On Monday, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager B. Pavan Kumar made a public announcement asking travelers to confirm the train situation beforehand.
"We kindly ask that the travelers check out the recent developments via the official railway inquiry offices or the Indian Railways website before they embark on their journeys,” he stated.

Cyclone Montha has developed into a severe storm over the Bay of Bengal, and this storm is expected to cause various adverse effects including heavy downpour and strong winds that will also affect the region of north-coastal Andhra Pradesh, i.e., Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam, and Vizianagaram districts.
