To ensure the smooth and fair conduct of the NEET-UG exam on May 5, the Chandigarh Police will deploy around 300 personnel across 10 designated examination centres in the city. Security teams will be stationed both inside and outside the venues, maintaining round-the-clock surveillance.

A senior police official confirmed that the deployment aims to tackle crowd management, prevent impersonation, and deter any attempts at cheating. Each exam centre will have its own dedicated team of security personnel.

Strict Security Protocols in Place

Candidates will undergo mandatory frisking before entering the examination halls. Both male and female frisking officers will inspect for prohibited items, including mobile phones, smartwatches, electronic devices, hidden notes, and communication tools.

To further enhance security, biometric attendance will be used to verify the identity of candidates through fingerprint scanning and photography at entry points. Traffic control measures will also be implemented around the centres during entry and exit hours.

Inside the centres, invigilators and staff are barred from carrying mobile phones or electronic devices, unless explicitly authorised under supervision.

Background and Cautionary Measures

Given the controversy surrounding NEET-UG 2024—including alleged paper leaks and an unusually high number of perfect scores—the National Testing Agency (NTA) has introduced a platform to report suspicious activity related to NEET-UG 2025. Candidates and the public are urged to stay vigilant and avoid falling for fraudulent claims promising access to question papers or impersonation services.

Thousands of students are expected to appear for the exam in Chandigarh, making security and transparency top priorities for local authorities.
